In 2023, "Bauhinia Spirit", the world's largest floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), completed its first batch of LNG reception, marking the begining of commercial operations, for Hong Kong's first offshore LNG project, supplying natural gas to Hong Kong's power plants.
On June 14th of the same year, the owner of the Bauhinia Spirit- Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.(MOL), announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, MOL FSRU Terminal (Hong Kong) Limited, has received its first batch of LNG as part of the commissioning process for Hong Kong's first offshore LNG receiving station.
On January 20, 2025, Shine successfully delivered Midel transformer oil to support this project.
